The Art of Patina: Shoes as Individual as You
Hand-painted finishes for a truly one-of-a-kind statement.
What is a Hand-Painted Patina?
Patina is an artistic process of hand-painting leather to create a unique, aged, and antiqued appearance. It transforms premium leather into a masterpiece of color and depth, meticulously applied by an artist for a bespoke finish.
Starting with high-quality, undyed 'crust' leather, our artisans apply multiple layers of dyes, essential oils, creams, and pigments. Techniques including brushing, sponging, and buffing are employed to create desired effects like marbling, burnishing, and soft gradients. Unlike a factory-dyed shoe, a patina finish has a deep, translucent quality with variations that make each pair unique and impossible to replicate.
The result is a deep, luminous color that evolves beautifully over time, telling its own story with every step.
